Rancho Santa Margarita is located on a high plateau known as Plano Trabuco. It is a vibrant and prosperous community known for its scenic views and community spirit.
History
Its name derives from an 1841 Mexican land grant, though the city relies mostly on the Rancho Mission Viejo grant. Planned by the Mission Viejo Company, it became Orange County's 33rd city, incorporating on January 1, 2000.
