History

Originally part of Rancho Cañada de los Alisos and known as El Toro, the area grew rapidly in the 1900s alongside the El Toro Marine Base. In 1991, it incorporated and changed its name to Lake Forest, reflecting its two man-made lakes and eucalyptus forests.
