La Habra, California
La Habra, 'the city with a heart,' sits at Orange County's northern gateway, offering established neighborhoods, community festivals, and hillside views along the La Habra Valley.
History
The name dates to the 1769 Portolá expedition, which called the pass through the hills 'La Habra.' The area became Rancho Cañada de La Habra in 1839, and the city incorporated in 1925 amid thriving avocado and citrus groves — for years it was an avocado capital of the region.
Things to do
Take the kids to the Children's Museum at La Habra, join the annual Tamale Festival, golf at Westridge Golf Club, or walk the trails at Vista Grande Park.
